Got my Windows 7 upgrade kit finally. Took me nearly 4 hours to finish the whole upgrading process. The installing part freeze during the end of the process thus forcing me to start the whole step (which requires at least 1.5hours) all over again.
Was anxious about Windows 7 features since it was eulogized by practically everyone I know and the articles I read.
Still in the phase of exploring. And these are some new features I found to be quite interesting.
1. Desktop
Windows 7 interface with new toolbar arrangement. New shortcut icon (Libraries which stores particularly Music, Pictures, Documents and Videos). And am not sure whether it is a new feature belongs to Windows Media Player or Windows 7 that when the cursor isn't pointing at the player, the interface will just fade off (as in the center of the desktop).
2. Gadgets
You can drag anything in the gadgets out to your desktop (Eg: Clock, Calendar, CPU meter which is to monitor your CPU and RAM usage etc.)
3. Start menu
New start menu consists of 2 columns. The difference is, the left-hand-side list will jump to the "All Programs" list when you place your cursor on it.
4. Desktop background
If you are bored with the same old desktop pictures, you can easily change the background picture by right clicking it and change it to next desktop background. Or to make it even simpler, you can actually slide-show your desktop background. That means the desktop background will automatically change to your desired interval settings.
5. Paint
Alot more new functions as compared to the 'plain paint' before.
6. Taskbar
Thumbnail preview. Window changes accordingly to the thumbnail's cursor position.
7. Aeroshake
I personally found it to be the most interesting feature.
Too cluttered with the opened windows? Simply click on a window's toolbar and shake it. Then the other windows (except for the shaken one) will be minimized.
Shake it again, and the minimized windows will be restored.
8. Snap
As can be seen, when dragging a window to the left (as shown), Windows 7 will automatically make it into half of the screen (as illustrated in the transparent layout behind the actual window).
That's all the new features I could find so far. Hope Windows 7 isn't a disappointment afterall.

A Memorable Trip
We went on a short vacation to Genting and KL after almost a year since we last had a proper break.
Planned to spend the first and second day in Genting. Since the hotel check in time is only at 3pm, so we decided to have a "BUS tour" around KL.
It's been almost 9 years since I left KL, bet how much I miss the busy life there.
We randomly picked a bus which we saw in KL Sentral. Asked the bus driver to put us down at the last stop, Taman Maluri. Along the way, we passed by the route which I used to travel every day during my secondary school days (Jalan Pudu and Jalan Pasar). MY..! How much this place has changed ever since I left KL. Even the old cinema (once was the landmark in Pudu has also been torn down). So we got down at Taman Maluri and took another bus to Pasar Seni. And there we again picked another bus all the way to Sg. Long.
This was the most memorable route as I managed to have a quick glance at my old neighbourhood, Jalan Chan Saw Lin, and amazed at how much it has changed. I hardly recognized the place where I'd been staying for the past 17 years until I've passed by the signboard. The journey went on, leading to my old primary school, SRJK (C) Tai Thung. The same thing happened, I couldn't believe my eyes that this is my formal school. Everything looks so new to me. The big basketball court had make way for the new high way indeed.
Well, the whole journey to Sg. Long took us almost 1 hour+. It was kind of a torturement for our butts :D Sitting on a plastic chairs. Once reached Sg. Long, we took another bus to Puduraya. There goes the story "my life as a butt" when HE started to imagine himself as his butt and communicating with his closest childhood friend, Mr. Annal.
So finally we reached Puduraya on time leading us to Genting!
The weather's superbly cool up there. Checked in to the hotel. He then popped the major question which brought my life to another new phase. "Are you hungry?????" haahhaahaa, just joking. I'm still so shy to share about it.

Well, he kneed down and proposed to me with this baby. (11 carat / 100 diamond ring) :D. From that moment onwards, I only comprehended the meaning - "Tears of Joy". The whole agenda was accompanied by both our new and old theme songs, "Thankful for meeting you" and "Everyday I love you".
There ends the 'sad' story.
There, for the first time we patronized a casino. The experience was enthusiastic! People were gambling with big bucks, and we cooly threw out RM30 to play jackpot. It was like the Chinese proverb which goes "a cow going out to the town" (阿牛出城). We didn't even know how the game goes, and that we actually were allowed to claim the unused/ won $$ back with a member card. A reasonable price to get such experience.
Most of the time was spent in first world as we'd already visited the outdoor theme park last year. To kill some of our time, we went to the 4D motion master. Enjoyable cum funny experience especially when the white kid beside was making a commotion when he missed the seat handles in the middle of the show. Such a cute action, haha.
How nice if time could be freezed, 2 days doesn't seem to be enough in such a great place with great weather (average 16 Celsius).
Time to say goodbye. We then proceeded to the Genting Skyway, going back to KL.
Thought of being like some backpackers, haahaa. Finding for some kind of cheap hotel in Bukit Bintang. But the blazing hot sun failed us. We finally ended up in Melia Hotel. That means, we were only backpacking from Berjaya Timesquare to Melia Hotel which is just right opposite, what a failure I can say..
After some rest (watched half of the ending part of 'Con Air' and the beginning part of '13 going on 30'), we started our journey again. Took bus to Puduraya, and we walked to Petaling Street. It was also my first time of visiting there even though I'd been staying there for so many years.
Costly satay, RM1 per stick with strong ginger taste!
Spent 2hours of walking and having our dinner there, we then walked back by following Berjaya Times Square building. On the way back, we dropped by Lowyat Plaze to have a stroll before heading to Sg. Wang Plaza where a moon cake festival concert was going on. The place was packed with homosapiens, didn't wish to linger any longer there even though Manhand my newly found potential-idol was performing.
So we off to the hotel after a tiring long day.
It was indeed a bad decision as when the clock stroke 10pm there was a fireworks performance, what a waste! That was the second time when we actually witness fireworks show together from a hotel window.
We spent our final day in Berjaya Times Square. Watched a quite boring movie "Accident" as I'm too old for horror movies. After the movie, we went window-shopping until ended up in Borders. Had an eye on these books, but nevermind, I'll wait until they get cheaper in their softcovers sometime later.
Anyway, I was still able to get myself 2 books, the ones I've always wanted to buy since a year back.
Half-reading
Finally we hung out in Starbucks for 2 to 3 hours with the opened books and straying eyes. :D
That brought an end to the 4days 3 nights trip in Genting and KL and most importantly my bachelor life.!

Bye and Hi
It's hard to leave someone whom you are so close to behind.. Especially those who served as your closest companion for the pass 6 years.
I hate to accept the truth that he's gone. Everything happened so fast, by the time I realized, tears' started to shed unconsciously.
Good bye to my 6-year-old+ laptop. His life and vitality is comparatively stronger than the others, I know. Sincere salute to my Acer Travelmate 230 whom I named as Tauhu Chai.
He pulled through when the lighting stroke the telephone cable when i was surfing the Internet last 2 years. The impact was dreadful enough to burst the telephone cable box that consequently wiped out the other 3 computers in the house. How could I not be grateful to such an indomitable laptop.
He's my entertainment and working partner. Movies, songs, tons of assignments and projects that required heavy processing, he never failed me. Eventhough dad has offered to get a new laptop for numerous times, I'd never have the heart of changing it.. not until last week when he's diagnosed as motherboard failure.
To end this moaning session, let me introduce my new laptop, the tauhu chai Jr. Like father like son, it's from Acer of course, with 2.53GHz, 2GB DDR3, 320GB HDD, and 512MB GeForce graphic card. Good enough for a computer student like me.
It too has a built-in fingerprint reader since biometric technology is so commonly used today for the security purposes. Certainly it's nothing new to embed the technology in laptop, but it is to me (sounds outdated I know). Still remember that I was so surprised when a friend bought a fingerprint protection laptop few years back. Was super impressed with the idea that building in bio-security in just a laptop.
With 'FingerLauch', just pick any of your fingers and swap it on the fingerprint reader for few times letting the software to store into the system, then it's done. And next time when logging in the windows, what you need to do is just swapping your finger tip. It's easy, but so far, I have to at least swap 2 times in order to log in successfully. Not sure it's because of my incorrect swapping technique or because of the device flaw itself.
I'm curious on how actually does the reader work since we are not required to press the finger hardly on a flat surface in order to acquire the fingerprint. Googled about it a little, yet to discover the answer, but this is what I found ->
Hitachi shrinks fingerprint readers to just 3mm thick .
So there are micro-lens, image sensor and etc. Thus, I presume it is optical scanning that is sensitive to light which can differentiate the ridges and valleys of the finger.
I accidentally cut my finger yesterday, out of curiosity I removed the hansaplast and let the wrinkle-up tip to swap on the reader.
It's failed no doubt. That further proves that it's optical-based. A micro+insignificant experiment that satisfied my curiosity :)

Susan Boyle, An Over Night Celebrity
I might be late, but this lady's simply amazing. She's able to touch people's heart with her voice. I must say that the song was astonishingly lived up by her, Susan Boyle.
Susan Boyle,47
It's never too late to go after your dream(s). She should be an inspiration to all of us :)
I Dreamed A Dream
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
Audiences' and Simon the Judge's despise cum sarcastic expression even before Susan started to sing.
In the middle of her performance.
These are some of the screenshots which I got from YouTube. Wanted to post the clip here, but unfortunately of all the videos I found were "Embedding disabled by request" due to some copy right issue I reckon. Well, you can still go to YouTube to have a look.
Yea, it's STUNNING.

Holiday
Weather these days in Kuala Terengganu is killingly WARM. Sitting in the room itself is like a trapped hot dog in an oven. Non-stop sweating even though you are doing nothing but just sitting in front of the PC.
The room is practically occupied by the heat wave
The horrific part is that your body will feel sticky and sweaty throughout the day, while the best moment is when you rush into the bathroom to take your shower. You can actually smell and experience the sizzling sensation when the first drop of water touches your skin. ;D You will feel as though in heaven while you are in the bathroom, however once you step out of the bathroom the cruel and harsh reality will hit you right on the face. You will then realize you are back to square one, intense heat A.G.A.I.N. In such an unsympathetic condition, one would hunger for an air-con.
Enough of the whining.
After staying in KT for the past 6 years, we finally were dedicated enough to get up early to have breakfast in town. After breakfast, we went to a Taoist temple. We've been passing by this temple for quite sometime, but last week it was the first time we actually went inside to pray.
Although the temple is not that big, but it seems tidy.
Religious is undoubtedly a force of spiritual mainstay for all of us. You will be feeling much peaceful after praying.
The alter
In the recent weeks, we found a new activity to do after dinner. Instead of walking dogs, we walk our young cats. During this time, we are able to enjoy some of the beauty of the environment. While enjoying the breeze of the evening air, we managed to see flocks and flocks of migratory birds flying over us.
It was a surprise scene as it was never been spotted throughout our stay in KT.
Beautiful clouds
This is simply because we are too busy with our work or we just don't bother to raise up our heads to enjoy our surrounding. Something for us to judge for ourselves :/
